This is a gentle reminder to myself experiment, to try something new whilst painting. As such this painting is unlike anything I have painted before. My materials sometimes lead the way. I apply those materials intuitively and with artistic instinct whilst pulling ideas from art training from other artists. There is a lot of movement and energy here and layering. Things are not always as they first seem.
Inspired by my love of colour, this painting is a celebration of diversity and love energy. It is like veil after veil of colour in this enchanting dance of the seen and unseen forces in this painting and all around us. The different veils of colour complement and contrast each other, inviting the viewer to come a little closer and experience the mystery of colour shrouded in magic veils of yet more colour.
I used to be somewhat of a dancer and I find now these days as an artist that I can dance the paint across the canvas with my energy and using my body which can in effect be melodic and tuneful, playing a symphony of subject matters, colours, mark making, aesthetics and meaning. In this painting there is the illusion of shapes and forms which are really just different veils of colour to make a mystery.
